Funny Coincidence

Every time I disappear from posting for at least a week, the Wolves seem to go on a run. Then, when I start posting again they start to go downhill. Sorry to disappoint you all by posting, but if I make it short, maybe it won't matter.

The Wolves have now won three straight, largely on the basis of improved rebounding. The Wolves don't need to be a great rebounding team to win, they just have to get more than 2 offensive rebounds per game. I'm perfectly OK with them being a below average rebounding team, as long as they aren't significantly below average. When your opponents get 20 more shots than you, it's virtually impossible to win at any level.

The Wolves showed a hint of being a powerhouse again on Monday afternoon by getting 19 points ahead of a Knicks team that has been playing moderately good basketball as of late at MSG. Then, they looked like a team that is pretty mediocre by letting the Knicks back in the game. If it hadn't been for a miraculous three-pointer by THud on a broken play, the Knicks would have had a chance to win or send the game to overtime.

Hopefully the Wolves will pull out a nice victory over the Celtics tonight.
